Is Organic Growth on Social Media Dead or Alive?

Updated: Aug 15

If Dead what next? And If alive what social media platforms should I focus on for swift organic growth?

Hey Guys,

Most people are curious whether organic growth on social media is dead or alive. And if it is what next? If not what are the social media platforms you should be focusing on for swift organic growth.

Specifically, I mean Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Tiktok when I say social media. I am choosing to leave Snapchat from this list because it is known as a platform for tightly knitted relationships. Snapchat is like a bigger Facebook group platform with a Tiktok interface to simply put it.

Social Media has been receiving exponential growth within the last decade but since ending of 2021 some of the big social media companies are having growth issues. So I would be saving you time and potential profit gains by you executing with this information.

Facebook and Instagram (META) openly said earlier this year that they had reached a growth ceiling, resulting in the development of the metaverse, which is presently only a future goal. According to speculations, Facebook launched the Metaverse project because it had hit its growth cap and needed something to excite investors and keep the company going.

Facebook and Instagram may have reached their growth ceilings. In reality, DAU (Daily Active Users) have decreased dramatically. "DAUs declined to 1.929 billion in the three months to the end of December, according to Meta Platforms, compared to 1.930 billion in the previous quarter. .....Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said the company's sales growth had been hampered because audiences, particularly younger users, had defected to competitors." 3 February 2022, BBC

Despite the fact that META has been constantly rising quarter after quarter over the past eighteen years courtesy to Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, and Messenger. META has had a difficult few months, from October 2021 till present.

The organic reach of Facebook's algorithms to potential clients has decreased dramatically in recent years. Their social platforms (Facebook and Instagram) have paid advertising pages optimized. This positions the most interesting promoted pages at the top of the screen, undermining the aim of organic reach.

Yes, Facebook and Instagram are still very significant in the digital marketing sector, and you may still utilize them since these are simply current observations that may alter over time.

Here comes YouTube, Google's sister firm. It has the largest daily active video streaming customers at 122 million, with more than 2 billion video streaming services monthly. YouTube is the most popular site for watching online videos, with 90 percent of internet consumers in the United States using it. (Oberlo).

Google's video format is considered Youtube. When conducting research using Google's search box, YouTube appears as a suggestion in mp4 format. After Google, Youtube is the second most popular search engine.

Youtube is the second most popular social media app and the second most popular platform for influencer marketing. A lot of well-known people got their start on YouTube, with vlogging, gaming, and comedy originally being the most well-liked genres. On YouTube now, there are hundreds of channels with millions of followers discussing virtually every subject, with Ryan's World, a channel for kids toys, generating the most earnings in 2021.

Furthermore, when the same statistic was charted internationally, YouTube is #1 and ranks second among the most popular sites with organic traffic in the US (Ahrefs).

TikTok rose to fame into the market in 2020 and grew out tremendously, owing to her algorithm technique of only providing content that is congruent with your likes and comments. Unlike Facebook, which only shows stuff from those you follow, Tiktok shows a variety of content (which Instagram just started picking up).

TikTok's Monthly Active users surged to One billion users per month as of January 2022. When Apple released the lists of free and paid games and apps that Americans downloaded the most in 2021, the Top Free Apps list was led by TikTok, with YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook trailing.

For Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, recent Upfluence analysis found higher engagement rates across different following levels. At all follower levels, TikTok has far higher engagement than either of the other two networks. As an example, Upfluence reported that micro-influencers had engagement rates of 17.96% on TikTok, 3.86% on Instagram, and 1.63% on YouTube. Mega-influencers had engagement rates of 4.96 percent on TikTok, 1.21 percent on Instagram, and 0.37 percent on YouTube, on the opposite end of the spectrum.

A couple platforms i personally recommend for organic growth

Pinterest and Twitter

Depending on your digital marketing strategy, each platform serves a distinct purpose. Twitter has 217 million daily active users (daily active users). Even though Twitter's revenue plummeted by 18 percent as a result of Apple's IOS14, the firm indicated that IOS 14 will have little influence on them (Variety)

Twitter's platform has seen consistent daily active user growth as a result of its unique focus and direct engagement with its audience.

Pinterest is another social networking platform that is experiencing steady development. The social site gained 17 million new members, bringing its total daily active users to 459 million. Women account for more than 60% of all active users. It's also niche-driven and engaging.
